Introduction
Did you recently start using your red light therapy device and are looking for ideas of things to do while you do your treatment?
Today we are sharing with you 10 things that you can do while you are doing your session, to optimise your time to the max!
10 Ideas to Optimise your Time
1. BREATH WORK
Breath work is great to either energise the body or to do the opposite and calm it. If you are doing your session in the morning, you can combine it with breath work to energise the body and fill every cell of your body with oxygen.
If, by contrast, you are doing your red light therapy session in the evening, then we recommend you do breath work to do the opposite, relax your mind and body and start preparing for sleep.
For those who are not familiar with this great practice, check out our friend @jacko.david.jackson ‘s profile for some good info.
2. MEDITATE
Practicing meditation while being in front of the light is a great combination.
The warmth of the light is going to help you relax the body and calm the mind. Great pairing to do both in the morning and in the evening.
3. JOURNALING / PLANNING
The time you spend in front of the light is great to think about all these things you need to get done and organise your day, or the next day. You can grab pen and paper and make notes about all the things that come to mind.
4. READ
It is always a good idea to continue that book you are halfway through. If your session is very short, it might not be the best combination… but if you are planning on a 20 min session, it can be a good time to immerse yourself in the pages of your favourite book.
5. YOGA / STRETCH
The warmth of the light goes pretty well with some gentle yoga or a good stretch.
It is great if you are using the light for overall health, mood, energy and skin benefits.
If you are following a treatment that requires you to be really close to the light, it’s better to stay still and make sure the area you need to cover is exposed to the light.
6. CATCH UP ON EMAILS
There are always emails to reply to or emails to delete. This can be a great time to do that.
Grab your laptop or smartphone and clean your inbox while you get your treatment.
7. LISTEN TO MUSIC / PODCAST OR WATCH A VIDEO
Enjoy your favourite songs or listen to the latest episode of your preferred podcast. If there are some videos you have been waiting to watch, this can be a good time to stream them.
8. COFFEE / TEA
It is always a good idea to sip on a hot and relaxing drink while getting your treatment. It will amplify the relaxing properties of the light if done in the evening, and it will help wake up the body if done first thing in the morning.
9. CALL A LOVED ONE
If you never have time to talk to your loved ones, red light therapy gives you a great excuse to catch up with your mum/dad, a friend, or just call someone you have not spoken to in a while.
10. COMPLIMENTARY TREATMENT
You can have a massage, a physio session or even a chiropractic adjustment. If you are in the comfort of your home, you can use a massage gun, or foam roll your muscles while enjoying your treatment.
Once again, if you are following a treatment that requires you to be really close to the light, it’s better to stay still and make sure the area you need to cover is exposed to the light.
As you can see, plenty of things to do!
Conclusion
Your red light therapy session doesn’t have to be boring or time consuming. If you stack a few things while you are enjoying your RLT, you can optimise your time and wellbeing to the minute.
