What is the difference between red and near infrared light?

Red and near infrared (NIR) light are both natural types of light which come from the sun and have been clinically proven to enhance cellular function. The main differences are that red light at 660nm only penetrates the body up to a depth of about 5-10mm and may contribute greatly to improved skin health and collagen production. Near infrared light at 850nm is invisible to the human eye and penetrates deeper into the body, between 50mm and 75mm, providing energetic and anti-inflammatory benefits at these levels which has been shown to increase muscle recovery and reduce joint pain, amongst many other benefits.

Why do the near infrared LEDs look like they're not working?

Near infrared light is invisible to the naked eye. All our devices come with the standard layout of red 660nm light and near infrared 850nm light. If your red light LEDs are working, your near infrared LEDs should be as well. All devices can be operated with red and NIR ( near infrared) independently, with the exception of the Target Light. One way to test your devices is to turn off your red light  but leave NIR light running. You should see a very faint illumination of the NIR LEDs.

What currency are your products listed in?

All our products and costs are listed in GBP, Euros, American Dollars and Australian Dollars. You can choose your currency using the tab on the right hand side of the homepage. Your credit card provider or Paypal will automatically convert your payment to the correct currency for you.

What is the intensity of your devices?

Each device will have the intensity quoted in the product description, at varying distances as well.  This wil help you understand the energy (or Joules) you are receiving from the light over a certain duration of time.  For example our Full Stack device is 100mW/cm2 @ 20cm from the device.

What power cable do your units come with?

Depending on the country you order from, we will include the appropriate cable and plug for that country.  If you have a special request, please let us know so we can accomodate it in advance.

Can I get support with my light?

We offer 24/7 online support via email. All Red Light Rising emails are attended to by real people! We love providing support by answering questions, offering guidance on which product may suit you best and of course, anything else we can help with!

What about EMFs?

The Advantage Series and The Origins Series are all zero EMF from at the recommended distance.

Can I upgrade my modular device?

Yes! You can build your dream red light therapy panel up to 6 panels! We recommend 3 x Advantage 1500 and 3 x Advantage 900 for maximum power and body coverage.

Do LEDs make a difference?

YES! Using LED technology allows us to control the exact wavelength (colour) of the light, direction and intensity of your red light therapy. All of this is possible WITHOUT any dangerous heat. Red light therapy is gently warming but poses ZERO danger of burning when used according to our recommended protocols.

When will my order ship?

Current Lead Time: Target lights, Half Stacks and Full Stacks all ship within 2 days of order and should take no more than 3-5 days to deliver for UK and EU orders.

International orders may take up to 15 days to arrive, depending on custom processes at destination.

Advantage 900 – Shipping will commence late June and follow the above lead times.

Advantage 1500 – Shipping will commence at the end of July and follow the above lead times.

What is your return policy?

All of our red light devices devices (Origin & Advantage Series) come with a 60-day trial period. If you’re not satisfied with your purchase within the first 60 days, please email us at info@redlightrising.co.uk and we’ll provide the return instructions. Please note the following for all returns:

  • Because we ship our products for free within UK & EU, return shipping will be your responsibility.* Please note that we cannot be held liable for lost or damaged shipments that are returned to us.
  • Returns must be postmarked before the end of the 60-day trial, which commences upon receipt of the product. Unfortunately, returns shipped after 60 days will not be accepted.
  • All returns must be received in like-new condition with all original accessories and packaging. All returns received with damaged or missing components may be subject to additional fees. If applicable, these fees will be deducted from the refunded amount.
  • All returned products will be inspected and processed within 3-5 days of receipt.
  • Lastly, a 15% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund for all orders that are returned to us.

Will I need an international adapter for my red light?

All Red Light Rising devices come with the appropriate power cord to suit the destination country and operate on international voltages (90V-265V).

What is the Red Light Rising “Securitas 5 Year Warranty” policy?

*The 5 Year Securitas Warranty covers only private buyers.

Commercial buyers get 3 years Securitas Warranty and can purchase extra cover for a small fee.

The RLR Advantage Series Devices (Advantage 900 & Advantage 1500) come with a 60-day trial period as well as a 5 year limited warranty.  

The RLR Origins Series Devices (Target Light, 300 & 600 ) come with a 60-day trial period as well as a 3 year limited warranty. 

60 Day Trial Period All of our devices come with a 60-day return period.  If you’re not 100% satisfied with your investment within the first 60 days, please contact us on info@redlightrising.co.uk

Warranty Overview- The Red Light Rising  (“Company”) Securitas Warranty applies to Red Light Rising light therapy devices (“Products”), and only for Products purchased through www.RedLightRising.co.uk by the purchaser of the Products (“Buyer”).

What does this limited warranty cover? These limited warranties cover any defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the warranty period. During the warranty period, Company will repair or replace, at no charge, Products or parts of Products that prove defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.

What will we do to correct the problems? Company will either repair or replace the Products at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement products or parts of Products.  For the first 180 days, the Company will be responsible for all shipping costs related to your request. After the first 180 days, Buyer will be responsible for Product shipping charges and related coverage while in transit to Company.  Company will be responsible for product shipping charges and related coverage to the Buyer while in transit.

How long does the coverage last?The Securitas Warranty period for Company Products depends on your purchased device and starts from the date of purchase. A replacement Product or part assumes the remaining warranty of the original Product.  The limited warranty is not transferable.

What does the limited warranty not cover?The limited warranty does not cover any problem that is caused by damage resulting from negligence, improper maintenance, or modification; damage by natural causes like lightning, floods, or other natural disasters; theft or loss of the Product.

How should I use my Red Light Rising Device?

For optimal results with red light therapy, follow these treatment guidelines.

Do I need to use eye protection for red light therapy?

No! Red light therapy is great for the eyes! Our eyes are very dense with mitochondria and they benefit just the same as the rest of the cells of the body do with red light therapy! The LED’s are very bright so can be uncomfortable to look at, but its not harmful!

Can I wear makeup when using the my red light?

Red light therapy can bring benefits if you’re wearing makeup, but it’s best to have clean, bare skin.

Can light therapy cause detox symptoms?

Some people may feel less than well after their first few red light therapy sessions. This may include headaches, nausea or fatigue like feelings. This is most often due to their bodies having a sudden boost of cellular energy which may lead to increased function of the detox pathways resulting in some movement of toxins through and out the body. If you’re experiencing these types of effects, we recommend starting out with 1-2 minute treatments, slowly working up to a standard 10-minute session over the course of 2-3 weeks. If symptoms continue after this period, please consult your doctor.

Can light therapy help improve my sleep?

Yes! Red light therapy has been shown not only to NOT interfere with melatonin production but to actually promote melatonin production in the brain and the skin. You can read more here. For maximum sleep benefits we recommend using blue blocking devices, like blue blocking glasses and software to reduce the blue light from personal devices.

Can red light therapy benefit cognitive health?

Yes! RLT has been shown to have positive effects on the brain and the mind by being demonstrated in tests on cognitive performance, memory recall, reaction, learning as well as showing positive results with sufferers of various forms of dementia, by helping and promoting the brain to detox certain plaques in the brain.

Does light therapy help with arthritis?

Red light therapy contributes to reducing pain and swelling in inflamed joints caused by arthritis or other inflammation.

Is it safe for children to have red light therapy?

Yes, RLT is great for kids too! We recommend starting slow, only a couple a minutes a day, in the morning and monitor the children to see how they feel. Many of our clients let their kids use the lights as normal without an issue! * Do not leave children unattended with any electrical devices.

Can the RLT interfere with medications I use?

Usually, no, however, if you use medications such as Tetracycline, Digoxin, Retin A, and/or other photosensitising drugs, please consult your doctor.

Can I do treatments while pregnant?

At this stage, there is no clinical evidence that RLT may be beneficial or harmful for pregnant women. Most experts suggest it would in fact be very beneficial as mom and baby would both experience a good burst of energy. Please always consult with your doctor if you’re pregnant before using RLT.

How do I setup my red lights?

Set up is pretty easy, but for the Asset or the Armory, we definitely recommend 2 or more people assist with lifting the lights when they are all connected. We have created some instructional videos and guides to help you through this simple process. Please get in touch with us for more information.

Will light therapy affect laser hair removal?

Light therapy has been found to stimulate hair follicles and promote hair growth in studies and trials. If you’ve received laser hair removal in the past, it’s possible that light therapy could result in hair regrowth. If you have concerns, we recommend reaching out to a laser hair professional.

How will I be notified when my order ships?

We will notify you by email as soon as your order ships. This email will include your details, as well as your tracking number from the courier. Please keep an eye on your spam and junk mailboxes, sometimes emails get lost in there!

Can I modify my order?

In order to prevent delivery delays and/or errors, it is our policy not to apply any modifications once your order reaches processing status at our third-party fulfillment center. These modifications include but are not limited to cancellations, shipping, billing/payment, and/or item alterations. If you have an address related concern, you may contact the appropriate carrier, once the order has shipped and you’ve been issued a tracking number via email. Any modifications to orders need to be made by 1pm UK time on the day of the order, or the following day before 1pm UK time if the order is placed after 1pm UK time.

What is the cost of shipping?

Shipping is FREE for all UK and most EU countries for orders over £100. For a long time we offered FREE shipping worldwide, but due to rising costs all around, we now have to charge a small fee for shipping. Shipping costs will be calculated at check out before payment.

Do you ship orders internationally?

YES! We regularly ship our products worldwide and all shipping options and related costs are calculated during checkout. Please note, when an order is shipped internationally, it may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and/or fees imposed by the destination country. These fees are not included in our prices and we are unable to calculate import fees added to your shipment. If applicable, these charges are the responsibility of the recipient and will typically be due once the shipped goods arrive at the country of destination prior to delivery. For further information, we recommend contacting your local customs office.

How effective is red light therapy if it is used on a wet skin surface? Could I use it while in a sauna or a shower?

There is no hard science on this subject at the time of publishing this. However, we do not recommending combining the 2 therapies at this stage. The mechanism of sauna and red light therapy, Although often spoken of as if they are the same thing, are not. The heat and light acts on the cells in different ways and to stimulate the cells in both these ways at the same time, may be counter productive.
